Question: In the past couple of
years I've noticed that no area of my face has been more vulnerable
to the aging process like the area around my eyes. I’ve tried
several eye concealers with no luck at all. I’ve even considered
laser surgery, but was advised against it. I recently saw an ad
for Eyesential cream and I'm seriously
thinking about giving it a try. Now I know you can't diagnose me
but any information you can give me about Eyesential or eye cream products in
general would be much appreciated.
Answer:
This is quite a
common beauty complaint. The area beneath the eye has no real
underlying layer of fat (it is present in all other areas of the
face), and as a consequence, it’s somewhat transparent and blood
vessels are more visible. Without this subcutaneous fat layer
there’s also a greater chance that any collected fluids will be
much more obvious in this area.
Skin care and
beauty products for the eye must be formulated much like an
anti-aging cream or moisturizer. Wrinkles form along the inner skin
as it thins and your fat cells begin to atrophy. This causes the
network of elastin (the elastic fibers in skin that allow it to
stretch and give) and collagen to begin scaffolding. Ultimately,
the surface layers begin to loosen and unravel with time which is
why specialized skin care moisturizers are needed to repair this
damage and aid in rejuvenation. Due to the advancement of science
and technology, eye cream products like Eyesential are becoming increasingly
popular.
If you do shop for an eye cream product in a health store, pharmacy
or on the Internet, you'll often find hundreds of different brands
containing a confusing array of ingredients. You may be tempted to
experiment with different products until you find one that works.
But this approach may be expensive. More importantly, not all
products contain the quality and quantity of necessary ingredients
to positively promote long-term improvements in the appearance of
the eye area. That's why you'll need to do a little bit of research
to find the best, most potent brand for your needs.
